My home battery doesn't seem to be doing anything
The most common cause: "Thuisbatterij mag de auto helpen laden" ("Home battery may help charge the car") is off. Turn it on under Batterij → "Batterij ondersteunt het laden van de auto" ("Battery → Battery supports charging the car"). Other possible causes:
- The battery is already full (nothing more to store) or at its minimum (nothing left to give).
- The battery is on manual: the top of the Batterij page then says "Batterij staat op handmatig" — click "Hervat automatische regeling" ("Resume automatic control").
- Your car is taking the surplus: with the support off, your car charges from the grid while your battery does nothing.
My car charged from the grid at an expensive time
Check, in order:
- Is there a charging plan? Without one, your car may charge immediately instead of waiting for cheap hours. Set a target level and time.
- Do you have a fixed contract? On a fixed contract there are no cheaper hours to shift to — see Energy contract & dynamic tariffs.
- Is the charger set to "Niet laden" ("Don't charge")? Then nothing charges regardless and your charging plan is paused — check the mode under Laadpaal ("Charger") and, if needed, click the banner "Laadplan gepauzeerd — klik om te hervatten" ("Charging plan paused — click to resume").
The app shows no live data
Your device is probably temporarily offline. It keeps optimising locally in the meantime, and simply catches up the live view and history once it reconnects — no action needed unless it stays offline for a long time.
My savings are lower than expected
The most common causes:
- no charging plan for your car,
- a fixed energy contract instead of dynamic,
- a relay's Minimaal batterijniveau (goedkope uren) ("Minimum battery level, cheap hours") threshold set too high.
See Savings & reports and Energy contract & dynamic tariffs.
