Glossary
Belpex / dynamic tariff — the Belgian day-ahead electricity market. On a dynamic contract your hourly price follows the Belpex market and changes every hour.
Laadpaal ("Charger") — the charging point your car is charged from. Its settings live under Laadpaal in the portal.
Laadplan ("Charging plan") — your target for the car (e.g. a level to reach by a certain "ready by" time). You manage charging plans under Voertuigen → Laadplannen; the system schedules charging into the cheapest available hours to meet that target. While a plan runs, the charger shows "Laadplan actief".
Laadmodus ("Charging mode") — how the charger charges. Exactly one mode is active at a time: Slim laden, Zon + minimum, Nu laden, Niet laden, Max prijs or Aangepast laden. See EV charging.
Thuisbatterij mag de auto helpen laden ("Home battery may help charge the car") — decides whether your home battery may help charge your car. When it's off, your car charges from solar and grid only, and the battery stays out of it.
MID-meting ("MID metering") — the certified energy meter in your charger. Session totals based on the MID reading are measured; values marked ≈ are calculated estimates.
Laadstrategie ("Charging strategy") — how the system decides when and how fast to charge (e.g. on surplus, during cheap hours, or immediately).
Piek (P1) / Piekbeheer ("Peak / peak management") — your highest power draw from the grid, measured via the P1 meter. Peak management tries to lower this peak, which can reduce your capacity tariff.
Overschot ("Surplus") — the part of your solar production your home isn't using at that moment. It can charge your battery or car, run a smart relay, or be exported.
Edge-toestel ("Edge device") — the device in your meter cabinet that makes the energy decisions locally and in real time, even without an internet connection.
Batterijniveau / SoC — how full your home battery is, as a percentage (state of charge).
